Graphite electrodes in the process and chemical industries
Electroerosion machining (EEM) is based on the material surface layer destruction principle under external electrical discharge impacts.
The materials used for the manufacture of electrodes shall have a high level of erosion resitance and ensure stable operation within the entire EEM operating range and maximum prooductivity with little wear and tear. Graphite is one of the materials having the best characteristics in respect of electrode erosion resistance and EEM process stability.
The advantages of graphite as a material for electrode production: heat resistance, electrical conductivity, resistance to different mechanical deformation conditions and temperature deformations.
